RE: Fort Cobb SP in Oklahoma

Ft. Cobb is nice, (it is more south than west of OKC) but you should try SW Okla at the Wichita Mt. Wildlife Reserve. We are at Granite Pointe RV Park near the base of Mt. Scott and are leaving Sun.July 20th. Check out the pics and review on www.rvparkfinder.net. Look for it in Lawton,Ok. Good luck...have fun.

RE: TV Question

Maybe you'd get more responses if this were moved to the Technology Forum? Just a thought.
The net police are out in full force I see. Thanks :D
Not a police officer, but I was school crossing guard in Jr. High! ;)
Hope you get an answer here. We FT, have DirecTV (I know, you said DISH), signed the waiver, and get EVERYTHING! See lots of DISH setups out there, so I can't imagine you wouldn't get the major networks. That wouldn't be a very good business plan, I don't think. Gotta be competitive. :W
Thanks brauneyz, I got aggrivated with the runaround from dish network and canceled the installation. But if I don't get something installed by the time the new fall shows start I may be in trouble with the DH. If she misses Grey's Anatomy, ER, or Desperate Housewives I may be a desperate husband in the ER. :(

RE: TV Question

You have the option above, OR you can get the locals channels wherever you are on your regular air antenna. Unless of course , you are in OK and you only get the two (lol).
Hey.....we get the new Horse & Cow channel....so there!:B

RE: Texas Hill Country Camping in Summer

We liked the Guadalupe River RV Resort in Kerrville, lots of trees. The park has the river running through it, but also has 3 swimming pools.

TV Question

We are about to get satellite tv with dish network and I can't get the same answer about programing from any dish person. Do you get the major networks such as abc, cbs, nbc, wherever you go? We ordered their Top 200 package. We don't care where it comes from such as west/east coast, just want to verify we get it.:?

RE: Blanco River RV Park

WE were in this park just about 10 days ago. Small but very clean facilities and the rainbows were biting in the river - from the back of our site! We do not hesitate to recommend it - but call for reservations many folks there for the summer!
Thank you very much.:C

RE: Camping in SE Oklahoma other than Beavers Bend/Hochatown

Have you ever tried southwest Oklahoma? Check out Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge near Lawton. Granite Pointe RV Park is a full hookup park with pool, but I would call first. Great mountain and lake view. Camp Doris (federal park) is in the mountains with electricity only.It does have bath houses and plenty of water available though. The deer, buffalo, etc walk right through the campground.

RE: Great Plains SP near Lawton, OK

Sad to say but we are from Lawton and have never been to Grt Plains SP. We spend our time at Lake Lawtonka which is just north of Lawton/Ft.Sill. Lake is not very large but big enough for boating and having fun. It is in the Wichita Mountains and near an old resort area that is being revitalized, Medicine Park. On the north side is Meers, which is a one building town that is famous for their Meers burger and great cobblers. Sorry I couldn't help with Tom Steed (I had to look up Great Plains as everyone around here calls it Tom Steed Lake) but if you have the time spend a day touring the Wichita Mountains and surrounding area. We are currently at an Granite Pointe RV Park which is on the east side of Lake Lawtonka. If you are able to spend a day or two make sure you make reservations, they stay very busy!
Hope you enjoy your trip to SW Oklahoma!

The Going to the Sun rd is very narrow. Had to pull in the mirrors on my Ford F250. Very beautiful!! Enjoy.

RE: Any campground owners here?

Never owned a campground, but as a former small business owner I have a little exerience.
1 Bring in more money than you spend.
2 You can do that by having what people are looking for. Have a place that people will want to come to. Location and/or features will attract them.
3 Treat people right (the way you would want to be treated). I always let customers know I appreciated them. Without customers, no business.
4 BE THERE! If you leave it all to a paid employee, you are asking for trouble.
Good luck with whatever you do.

I removed our two recliners very easy. We tilted them on their side first, then turned them accordingly. Have not tried the couch yet.

I see many Keystone Montanas on the road, but our Keystone Everest did fine last winter. We spent about a month In Okla last year during the time when it was very cold.
